Perplexity has announced a global partnership with Motorola that will see its AI-powered answer engine and assistant pre-installed on millions of Motorola smartphones worldwide.

The integration begins with Motorola's latest generation of devices, including the Razr and Edge 60 series, the company announced on Thursday.

As part of the collaboration, Perplexity has optimized its app for Motorola’s hardware and software.

Key features include support for the Razr's external display when folded shut and deep integration with Motorola's Moto AI, enabling users to access Perplexity by typing “Ask Perplexity.”

The assistant also allows users to send emails, set reminders, play media, book rides, and make restaurant reservations.

A “Next Move” feature will let users explore related questions directly from their screen.

New Motorola device owners will receive three months of Perplexity Pro at no cost. This version includes features such as advanced research tools, multiple AI model options, and unlimited file uploads.

“The seamless integration of information synthesis and actions is the future of mobile technology and we are happy to get it into the hands of millions of users through our Motorola partnership,” Perplexity said in a statement.
